Mental Health and housing surgery
Are you struggling to find suitable accomodation, to set up or to manage your home? Do you need help with budgeting, accessing benefits and managing your money? Is your mental health making it difficult to cope wth day to day living?
We hold open access sessions at Pontypool Wellbeing Centre, George Street, Pontypool between 9am and 3.30pm from Monday to Friday.
We also hold open access sessions at Cwmbran CAB from 10am until 3.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday or from 8.30am until 3.30pm every Wednesday.
We provide accommodation and support to provide residents with the confidence and ability to sustain a tenancy successfully. Please follow the above link for more information.
We help and enable people to live independently in their own home, to manage their mental health, to gain quality in their everyday life and maintain their tenancies. Referrals can be made through the Supporting People Gateway by calling 01495 766949 or by visiting our Mental Health and Housing Surgery.
Vulnerable Males (pre tenancy-homeless)
Are you homeless and not sure what to do? Are you sleeping rough or sofa surfing and need support to:
- Access shower and wash facilities
- Stay safe
- Claim benefits
- Manage your mental health
- Understand your housing options
Referrals to this service can be made by accessing our Mental Health and Housing surgery or by calling the Supporting People Gateway on 01495 766949. We also offer a free drop in service every Wednesday between 1pm and 4pm at Hope Centre Food Bank, Unit 5, Pavillion Industrial Estate, Pontnewynydd, Pontypool. (Short term empowerment project)
S.T.E.P is a 12 week support service that can help you manage your mental health alongside assisting you to resolve any housing related issues you might have, such as:
Managing accomodation, managing your money, accessing the appropriate benefits and budgeting.
Supporting you to be healthy and active as well as supporting you to better manage your mental health.
Support to access training and volunteering opportunites.

We provide the opportunity for people to access support, advice, therapeutic groups and much more within Pontypool and Brynmawr.
Counselling offers you a safe “no strings attached” environment that allows you the space where, in partnership with your counsellor, you can explore your feelings and situation.
