Drop-in Centre

The concept of the Drop-In Centre is at the heart of our aims and is the social hub of the daily activity of Torfaen Mind. In line with our ethos of self help, members are encouraged to join in with all decision making processes involved in the running of the Centre and the programme of activities.

The Drop-In Centre Aims

To empower rather than overwhelm
To enable people to live independently by helping them to gain (or regain) life skills
To offer choices and assist people to make decisions about their lives
To help break down the barriers of isolation which mental health problems can bring about by providing a non-discriminatory   social environment
To encourage members to discover and develop their inherent skills and talents

Our Commitment to Members

Whilst valuing our independent status, Torfaen Mind liaises with other relevant agencies to bring a broad spectrum of services within the umbrella of the Drop-in Centre. So whether it is counselling, domestic support, benefits, life skills, education, child-care etc, we can help or point you in the right direction. We have strong links with GAP, CAB, Drug Aid and Fusion who regularly use our facilities to hold discussions and opportunities for further support.
